AntispamSniper plug-in for The Bat!
======================================================================
AntispamSniper implements the anti-spam feature for TheBat! and
Voyager email clients.
Installation
======================================================================
To install a plug-in, open the Preferences dialog from the Options |
Preferences menu and in the preferences tree click on the Anti-spam
leaf.
To add a new plug-in just click on the Add button and in the file
dialog browse through the directory tree and choose
antispamsniper.tbp. It will appear in the Anti-spam plug-ins list.
Selecting and clicking on Delete will remove the plug-in from the
list.
If you plan to use the plug-in with Voyager, then enable Voyage
support checkbox during installation. The plug-in will use relative
path to its base directory instead of absolute.
NOTE: You must delete all other anti-spam plug-ins from TheBat. The
classification quality may seriously degrade if you have several
plug-ins working simultaneously. See the user manual for more detailed
explanations.
Using the plug-in
======================================================================
The Bat! offers an interface for installing anti-spam plug-ins. Each
message you receive is given a score from 0 to 100 to determine
whether or not it is spam, and if the points are above a minimum that
you set in preferences it is moved to the Junk Mail Folder. To
determine whether or not a message is Junk in The Bat! you can use
Mark As Junk and Mark as NOT Junk options from the Specials sub-menu.
The main settings for anti-spam plugins are configured in
"Preferences" dialog from the "Options | Preferences" menu,
"Anti-spam" leaf. "Move a message to the Junk folder if the score is
greater than" determines the minimum amount of points after which a
message will be moved to the Junk folder if its score is equal or
greater. Any message that looks too spammy will be moved to the Junk
folder right away. The degree of spamminess can range up to 99. 60 is
a pretty good value to start with. Tune this up or down depending on
your results. The Junk folder is created automatically when you get
your first junk message.
